Walther PPK, SS-issued (K suffix w/ Matching Mag) RHSA Nazi WW2 Description: This rare RHSA/SS issued PPK came in from an old collection. II, indicates 7000-10,000 were manufactured with 7 digit numbers. James Rankin, in his book “Walther”, Vol. But, in the PPK series the six digit numbers transitioned into 7 digit numbers for a short while before the K suffix was adopted. When the PP pistol sequence reached 999,999, Walther switched to a P suffix. This example is the very desirable “K suffix”, Type 5 variant, which was produced in mid 1940. It is in about 97% condition, with one factory-original, matching, spine-numbered magazine. Keep in mind Hoffschmidt's book was written circa 1975, so it will have information that is more dated. Hoffschmidt's 'Know Your Walther PP & PPK' or Gene Gangarosa's 'The Walther Handgun Story: A Collector's and Shooter's Guide.' Either one of these books will contain an index of serial numbers for Walther guns. A PPK with a Waffenanit (military acceptance marking) will bring more than one with just a Crown/N proof mark. The K suffix was used on the PPK from 1938 thru 1944. It has to do with where / who the gun was issued to, Military, Foreign contract, Police issue and type finish.
